Home Business Work At Home: The Choice Is Yours
By Lucile Taylor
Try surfing the Internet any time of the day and you will find that lots of home opportunities are available just waiting for someone to take advantage of them. The fact alone that these opportunities are freely available is a testament to the current boom in the work at home industry.

Many individuals today are actively seeking to either start their own home work at home or maintain one. And to cater to their demands, the number of programs and literature concerning work at home opportunities has increased in volume.

The idea of owning your own work at home is certainly a very attractive one. Employees today are losing faith in the so-called “corporate identity.” The many job lay-offs and closings may have something to do with that. Regardless, it seems that businesses today no longer offer employees the necessary safety net, stability, and benefits that they once enjoyed. And for this, many are led to indulge in work at home opportunities, leading to the “Internet work at home business” that the job market is experiencing.

There are many various ways to earn money on the Internet with a work at home business. Everything from producing your own goods and services to running an online wholesale storefront – all these choices are available to you and you can take advantage of them anytime you want. However, if you’re new to the area of work at home business, a good choice for you, as well as for many beginners, is either an Affiliate Program or a Network Marketing Program (sometimes called Multi-Level Marketing or MLM).

Affiliate programs and

network marketing programs are considered as “turn-key” work at home opportunities in that the organization that the individual is going to run is pretty much in place. By “in place”, it means that the work at home has been set up for you already and all you really need to do is to market and basically run it.

At the beginning, you are provided with the product and service by the one who owns the work at home program that you signed up for. You will also be given a set of instructions as well as support, along with marketing materials and a website to serve as your storefront. In addition, methods of payment are also usually provided. So as you can see, everything has been laid out for you and it is easy to imagine that starting a work at home is easy as pie if you choose to join an affiliate program or network marketing program.

Though the two programs share certain similarities, there are distinctive characteristics to each of these work at home models. For this reason, care should be taken when joining either of these programs to ensure that the one most closely fits what you’re looking for in a work at home opportunity.

Affiliate work at home programs usually offer one or two income levels with a standard earning percentage. In network marketing programs, there are many, many levels of income. Hence, it is sometimes called multi-level marketing. This leads to more long-term residual income compared to affiliates.
